On September 2, I was able to bring myself to Camp John Hay. The sun was great, the cold breeze of Baguio was present.... *Sigh*
It's my first time to go to the Butterfly Sanctuary. I know, I know, from a Baguio resident, I should have gone there a long time ago.
The Butterfly sanctuary of Camp John Hay is its newest eco-tourism attraction. If you decide to go here, it is in the Little Mermaid Garden along Ordonio Drive before going up to Scout Hill and picnic grounds.
For forty pesos, it is a steal. As long as you don't kill the butteflies, you won't have any problems there :) And if you're lucky enough (like me), the caretaker can catch butterflies for you and place it on your fingers, your clothes, your head, your nose, and God knows where.
I have posted my favorite shot inside the sanctuary on my last post. Here are the other pictures. Hope you like them :) This CJH attraction will, no doubt, become another popular attraction for the tourists.

The sanctuary concept was developed by Edmond (Macky) Maceda, freelance environmental consultant who is at present connected with the Fil-Estate Group. He worked on the basis of the CJH idea that butterflies would somehow set the tone of biodiversity in the area...
...Maceda is starting with seven species of butterflies, which include swallowtails and birdwings. He is helped in the breeding operations by an experienced breeder, Dari, who worked with other lepidopterists (butterfly/moth experts) before. -INQ7 Article
